Jinzhou Medical University originated from the Health School of Liaoji Military Region, which was founded in 1946 during the War of Liberation and was moved to Jinzhou of Liaoning Province in 1949. The school developed into Jinzhou Medical College in 1958 and the name was changed into Liaoning Medical University in 2006. In the next year, LMU passed the teaching proficiency testing of Ministry of Education with excellent performance. The university was officially renamed Jinzhou Medical University in March 2016 under the approval of Ministry of Education. Through 70 years of development, JZMU has developed into a provincial medical university with chiefly medical-based, multi-level, multidisciplinary and multi-form education.
Jinzhou Medical University covers an area of 915 acres, including general higher education, adult education, higher vocational education and international students education. In 1984, university began to grant master degree. In 1999, it received qualification of granting master degree for those with the same level of education. In 2003, approved by the Ministry of Education, our university began to make joint training program with China Medical University to cultivate graduates for Ph.D degrees. Now, there are 8 first -level disciplines authorized to offer master degree, 59 second-level disciplines authorized to offer master degree and 4 disciplines authorized to offer professional master degree. Jinzhou Medical University has 124 professional teaching practice base, among which there are three directly affiliated hospitals and seven indirectly affiliated hospitals. The First Affiliated Hospital is the biggest third-level Grade- A hospital in western Liaoning, one of the three major regional medical centers of Liaoning Province, the national standardized training base for coronary intervention. The Second Affiliated Hospital is the national standardized training base for chief physician (oral cavity), the clinical training base for professional nurses affiliated to Chinese Stomatological Association, the clinical training center for stomatology, the base promoting popular science of oral health of Liaoning Province, and the center for diagnosing and treating oral disease in western Liaoning. The Third Affiliated Hospital is the third-level Grade-A hospital, the rehabilitation center for occupational injuries, the center for diabetes prevention and the center for diabetic eye diseases prevention in western Liaoning Province. The three affiliated hospital has made great contributions to the fast and harmonious development of the regional medical and health career.
Jinzhou Medical University ( JZMU ) currently has over 12000 on-campus students, admitting students nationally from 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. JZMU began to recruit overseas students in 1997. Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2012, it was qualified to award ‘ English-Taught Bachelor of Medicine /Bachelor of Surgery ( MBBS )’. In 2014, approved by the Ministry of Education, our University, JZMU were qualified as one of the Chinese institutions admitting international students under ‘Chinese Government Scholarship’. In 2015, approved by the Ministry of Education, JZMU became eligible institution to recruit Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan students. The international students aiming at academic degrees has ranked third for three years in Liaoning Province. JZMU has enrolled around 1500 medical degree students, medical postgraduate students from more than 57 countries in five continents, including India, Nepal, Korea, Japan, Russia,etc.

3. Further Study/Clinical Trainee
This course is designed for graduates from medical universities or for students currently studying at a medical university. In this course students will get the opportunity to obtain experience by practicing in an affiliated hospital of our university. They can be enrolled into every discipline prescribed for undergraduates, M.A.
4. Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion
The course lasts for two months and consists of an introductory course and an advanced course, each of which will last one month. In the introductory course students will acquire a general understanding of the basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a basic knowledge of the theoretical principles of acupuncture and moxibustion. In the advanced course participants will be able to acquire knowledge about needling techniques, the application of specific points and the treatment of common diseases. They will get a more thorough understanding of traditional Chinese medicine and by the end of the course they will be able to locate and needle about 250 points and be able to treat about 20 common diseases.
5. Special Combined Course
This course gives students the possibility to choose two subjects in which they are interested in the most. Those two subjects will be taught during one month. The different subjects are: acupuncture, Chinese massage, moxibustion, Tai Ji Quan and basic Chinese language
6. Chinese Language Course
Our university offers two kinds of Chinese courses.
The first course is a long-term course consisting of three levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced. Each level can be completed in two terms. The minimum study period for this course is one term. The course pays attention to grammar, oral Chinese, listening comprehension and so on.
The second course is a training course for the HSK exams. These lessons will deal with specific knowledge students need to pass the HSK exams. The classes will prepare the students for the specific question types that will be asked on the HSK exams. The course will take 1 month, but can be extended in case the student wishes to do so.

Application Procedure:
1. Contact the International Office of LMU (cie@jzmu.edu.cn) or download the Application Form for overseas students from this website. (Application Form for Foreign Students of Liaoning Medical University)
2. Post the following things to the International Office of LMU (address below): the application form, a passport photo (3cm × 5cm), a copy of your passport (the page showing the photo, your name and passport number) and the documents required for your specific course. (see table above).
3. After receiving the above documents, LMU will send the applicant a JW202 form (Visa Application for Study in China), an admission letter and detailed information about the tuition fee.
4. With the JW202 form, admission letter, passport and other required documents, the applicant will be able to go to the Chinese Embassy or the Chinese Consulate in his /her country to apply for the “X” visa (Student Visa)
5. Upon arrival procedure:
Upon arrival the following documents should be submitted to the International Office of LMU: the admission letter, the JW202 form, passport, 8 recent passport photos (3cm × 5cm).All these documents should be handed in in time in order to facilitate the registration procedure.
6. Payment of fees
